Purpleplay 'It started when a parent asked me to teach guitar to her kid after school. I was actually not his music teacher but his science teacher. Luckily, the school allowed it and more parents sent their kids to me. I have no bachelor's degree in music to qualify myself. I just do what I love to do.'
During the summer of 2012, Alon learned that there are foreign ex-pats in Bangkok looking for a private guitar teacher for their kids and themselves to learn at the comfort of their homes. He took that call and that's how he officially started Purpleplay. Along the way, the support offered has also evolved depending on the students' needs. Together with other start-up artists and friends, he also built a home studio recording and helped them write, arrange, and produce their original songs and covers. It became clearer that Purpleplay exists not only to provide lessons but also to help crystallise the music goals of any aspiring artists whether by producing their original songs, forming a band, performing on stage, or simply playing a guitar or ukulele along the beach. Currently, Purpleplay is in partnership with The A-Team Academy founded by Mr. Arthur Gannaban. With the help of a team of independent artists namely; Kiera Selbe, Arc Yabut, Amie Marks, Tyrese Mamauag, Dmytro Klimov, & Ian John, they will be facilitating music workshops, weekly programs, and a battle of the band this year 2022. |
